Our Story

We’re Steve, Ashley, McKayla, Riley, and our dog Tango — a full-time RV family embracing our camping adventures while chasing our dreams across America.  

Our journey began in 2019 when we bought our first travel trailer and fell in love with the open road. In May-June of 2022, we embarked on our first long road trip, lasting 2-1/2 weeks, and we were hooked, eager to figure out how to embrace this RV life full-time. So we started planning, and in December 2024, we sold our home, downsized our lives, and set out to discover freedom, adventure, and the simple joy of living life on our own terms because life is too short to wait.  

What started as weekend getaways quickly evolved into a lifestyle that transformed our perspective on family travel. Every new place brings a story, every mile holds a memory, and every campfire reminds us why we chose this path — to slow down, connect as a family, and chase the dreams that truly matter. Through Campfires & Motors, we hope to inspire others to find their own version of freedom and adventure, wherever the road may lead.
